Carbon fiber

I need to shave a lot of weight off of my car. I need to know what is available in carbon fiber for our cars. I've seen the clear plastic hoods which might shave some weight, but looks stupid. I'm looking for front and rear bumpers, hood, wing, mirrors, etc. anything that I can find.

It would be more pratical and way cheaper to just remove both bumper supports, back seats, spare, get a lightweight k member etc before going to CF. How much weight do you want to lose? AFAIK besides a hood there are no CF parts for our cars.

You will need to have them custom fabricated. It would be cheaper to just buy a lighter car

I've pulled the supports, cut the support out of the hood, etc. I want to get it down to 2600#'s. I've pulled wheel wells, carpet, glove box, speakers, stereo, airbags, center console, head liner, badges, door lock actuators, door panels, headlights, parking brake system.
But i'm still no where near that mark. I've got tubular uper and lower a arms and a k member on order so that should shave some.

Sway bars ? Who needs em !!

Suspension ? Who needs it at the track ! !

Doors ? Don't need those in a straight line ! !

16 rims ? TOO BIG ! Get some lighter 14" ones ! !

What are your goals for your car. If you got an extra 50 HP or so that would be the equivilent to dropping 400+ pounds. Why not go that route?

Street Modified solo2 6.0L motor w/ 2700# car. Lexan windows is not an option neither is removing the passenger seat but anything else is fair game.

On top of what you have already done i am not sure what else you could do. Pull the bumper supports for sure. I think tbyrne sells a custom fuel cell that replaces the stocker, that could lighten it up a little i would think.
