Can LT1 water pump be powder coated?

Doing a cam swap on the 97 TA. Replacing parts that need to be removed for the cam since some of the stuff is 75K miles original. I have a brand new water pump. I was wondering if anyone ever powder coated the face of one, and if they did, what was needed to set it up before coating? I rather ask the "stupid" question than ruin a brand new pump in the powder coat process...
Thanks all... ron

Nothing special. Just a piece of aluminum. Needs to be clean, and the parts you don't want coated need to be covered. If you want it shiny, you could polish it a little.
