Can it be done? (z28-->TA guage cluster)

Hey all...
I have searched, and haven't been able to find the answer to this... So, I'd love your input! (If you can find links feel free to post them)
In any case, I've always liked the orange glow of the T/A guage cluster and am thinking about getting one and installing it in my Z28. I know that most things are a direct swap from car to car, but I am curious about the guages.
So, I have two main questions:
1. Does the T/A cluster use the same connectors?
2. Is it possible, to swap out the digital odometer from cluster to cluster?

I was thinking about LED guages, but I like being able to dim my lights, and I strongly dislike the hotspots that I've seen in pics....

Any ideas?

I have a 2000 Camaro dash with a T/A gauge cluster. Everything bolts right up including the cluster plug. Mine lights up red, not orange.

How did you deal with the odometer?

Are you sure the odometer even holds the mileage inside of it? I figured that would be part of the ECM, or BCM or something.

Yeah unfortuately I know all to much about dash swaps. You can swap in a TA cluster no problem just make sure you get one of the same year as I know the 99+'s are different than the 98's. The TA cluster uses the same connector and will just plug right in, in place of your old Camaro cluster. You can remove the odometer from the cluster, and the odometer is what holds the mileage, not the pcm. I believe LEDgauges.com has a little "how to" on installing an LED bulb into the odometer and the guide shows whats involved in removing the odometer. The TA cluster is a redish orange with stock lights. When i had my TA cluster i installed red LED's so it would light up blood red. I don't know how well orange LED's would work in a Camaro cluster but I know people have great success with red LED's in Camaro clusters. To me the Camaro cluster looks 100x better, which is why I sold my old TA cluster to 94Z28WP. Its all personal preference and what you really want.

Thanks for the info and the link!
Honestly, If I could have the camaro cluster with the TA bezel, with clear reddish dimable lighting, with no hot spots... I'd be a happy guy!
I know that the bezel can be purchased, and I know that the colored LED's
can be put into the camaro dash, but you lose the ability to dim the lights.
Any ideas on how to add that feature, without going to regular colored bulbs?

Thanks!
