Camaro SS ashtray plaque...

When i bought my camaro it came with the SS hood and also the SS spoiler. I just bought SS badges and now i am looking for the little touches to make it look like a good SS clone. The one thing that i cant find is the plaque that goes on the ashtray in the 96's that says Z28SS. There is a pic on this page http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/337827 I was wondering if anyone knows where i could get a real on or if there are any replicas made or any other ideas. Thanks for the help.

I don't know where you could find a plaque like that because they have the car # on it, unless you find one in a junk yard.

I did see the Camaro SS emblems that go above the radio in the '97 models on ebay last night but I don't have a link. They looked pretty nice and were the offical emblems from SLP I think they were going for around 20 bucks.

You can go here and get a custom one with your horsepower ratings, etc.

Please do not put the SS badges on unless it is a true SS. No offense, but it is very chessy to pretend it is an SS when it is not. Just my opinion.

Why dont you just do what some f***ing a**hole did and break into my car and steal my numbered console plaque and Z28 SS air box lid. If I could only find who did that. God help them because I wouldn't.

i dont care how fast your car is, or what parts you have added to it, it was never built as an SS, so it isn't an SS.

Add the hood, the spoiler, the wheels, whatever you want, but don't add badges to show its something it isn't, you're no different then the ricers.

i was trying real hard not to say that because that argument is old and im not a stuck up ss owner or whatever you wanna call it...you have a 396 Z thats cool and z28 badges look pretty good on it to ....maybe a custom z28 plaque with the specs would be a nice interior accent...or an ss one...whatever you like i guess

i guess different ppl have different views on cars but i don't like my car with the Z28 badges and and SS hood and spoiler so i decided to throw the SS badges on it to add to the looks of the car. its not a big deal to me. but i guess it is to the real "SS" owners out there. but i'm not a ricer and don't have thousands of stickers all over my car advertising useless crap on my car.

Not to throw fuel on the fire here, but I agree with the rest of the guys here. It's absolutely no different then what the Honda guys do when they throw "Type R" badges and such all over on base Civics. Putting an SS hood & spoiler on a Z28 are nice mods to do, but throwing SS badges on is just simply posing. ...But, different strokes for different folks.... If you don't like your current Z28 badges, why not consider the retro '69 Z28 badges? Now that would look bad a$$ with your SS hood & spoiler.

Linky...

Combine that with a front fender 396 badge...

Now you're set!

Yes, get the retro z badges that would look soooo much better. I once had a v6 with the ss hood and was tempted for fun to put the ss badges, but after a minute of thinking it sounded like a poser. A poser ss may not be a big deal to you,but keep it real and do not play it as an ss. I can guarantee when people ask is that really an ss and you say no I just put the badges on, they will think what a poser. Your car would look great with the retro badges and the ss cosmetics.

If he wants ss badges it is his car. As long as it is not a v6 or you don't try to sell it as a SS.
