Question "CAMARO" on the rear valance ?

I have a black car and the "CAMARO" on the rear is filled in in silver. I have added a gold pinstripe and I want to black out the rear camaro. It's the one between the tail lights.

My question is how should I do it? What kind of paint? Just paint over it?

Does anyone make a black sticker that would fill it in in case I change my mind later?

Thanks

Jay

Yeah, I'd look into this first

BUT, there were a number of dealerships that automatically painted those areas and then charged like $200 to do it.

So, if it's a sticker, just remove the sticker by peeling it from the edges with your fingernail and then removing the residual adhesive with something like bumper sticker remover or Goof Off or something like that.

If it's is painted in there, you might have to paint over it because in a lot of the cases where it was painted, it goes up the edges and a black decal won't cover the "sides" of the indentation

Mines painted, I did it with gloss black model paint.

There's no taking that stuff off, not that I would.

It would have to painted over.

It's really not a good idea to paint over vinyl It takes just maybe 15 minutes to remove the vinyl and that is definitely the thing to do instead of painting over it IMO

Whoops.......misunderstood........

I wasn't suggesting he paint over the vinyl.
Mines just painted..........there's no vinyl underneath.

I suppose I should have just said for him to remove the existing lettering and apply new.
That would have been truely helpfull.

Wow!

You guys are the best. Thanks to all who replied. I think I will try to peel them off and then maybe order a black vinyl decal to put in there.

Thanks again,

Jay

Whoops... yeah, I misunderstood ya at first. Thought you were talking about HIM painting over but now that I re-read it, you were talking about YOU in your case having to paint over it
