Why bother spending the money on the insert?

Just get a small can of gloss black model paint and fill it in.

I did.
Looks great.

Well, I already have the insert, but the M and the second A are fading slightly for some reason, so I figured time for a new one.

Here's a link to Brents sight-I have them on my car. $8 and they should last 5 years-sounds like a good deal to me

I ordered my inserts from firebatscave.com too. If you want raised or puffy ones go to Brent Franker. Hey Panda, painting them yourself saved you ten bucks but what if you decide to remove them? Lots of sanding and re-finishing required. Decals can be removed in a minute. Anyone have pics of firebat's black mettalic decals? I'm ordering more but can't find a pic of that color.

Mine aren't puffy The only puffy ones I know of are from RK Sport. While they look very nice, they are expensive and don't last long. My red ones on my 96SS were very faded and had a texture like sandpaper after just a year.

As for the black metallic, I have that too. I don't have a picture put it isn't all that much different than black. What I mean is that the metallic isn't "obnoxious" and instead is very subtle. You can tell that it isn't black black but it also does't look like a disco show either

Brent, your decals are just as good if not better than anyone else's and that's a fact.

Well thank you Drumhawk! I wouldn't put cheap crappy vinyl on my car so see no point in using it when I make stuff for other people. Nothing but the high quality stuff here buddy! Good vinyl for cheap equals happy F-body buds and that's what I like to see

Im making a purchase on inserts as well this weekend. Im trying to get some opinions on what would look best though. Its between brents black inserts or some stainless steel inserts. Opinions anyone!? Oh..this is going on an 02' blue ss. If I put stainless on the inserts I would also put stainless 'ss' emblems around the car also.

Kudo's go out to the firebat cause he is sending me a free sample of black mettalic. I've already sent him a money order otherwise I'd probably get them from Brent Franker. Next time I'll call you first Brent. Both of you guys make awesome decal products. What I would Brent is a firehawk bird for my rear window. I'll e-mail you a pic of what I'd like.
