I wet sanded and polished the headlights on my 2001 camaro and they turned out pretty good looking. I used 1000 and 2000 grit to wet sand them. I started with 1000 grit and then went to 2000 grit. I then used meguiars PlastX clear plastic cleaner and polish and polished them by hand.

I did the first headlight while it was on the car and for the second headlight I took it off the car to do. It is easier to do them if you take them off the car. All I had to do was unscrew one 10 mm bolt and unhook the light bulbs to take them off.
