What temp. to separate lens on 98-02?

I can't seem to find the old threads where some people bake their peanut style headlamps to separate the lens from the reflectors. Can anyone help me find it or remember the process(temperature)?

I want to paint the area outside of the reflector satin black to give it a slight tinted look.

TIA

i used 350 degrees for about 5 minutes, and then another minute or two if it needed more persuading. worked well for me.

I'm glad you asked this as I was wondering the same. I was thinking 350, but couldn't remember. I did mine several years ago, but the lights have seen better days and I'm thinking I'll replace them this year. I hate to have to paint them all over again, but it'll be worth it in the end.
