C5 Rims on my 97 LT1 Z28, questions???

I just scored a free pair of Gloss black C5 rims "thanks Brian" early 97 style 5 spokes.
They came of another f-body that had suspension work & was pretty low, so the front tires are 245 40 17's & they should be 245 45 17's.
The off tire size makes the fronts look a little starnge on my car, but new meats will fix that & over all it looks pretty cool.

I have a few questions about getting the right stance.
The C5's rims have a little bit of a different offset then stock f-bodys wheels.
So they tend to sink in the wheel well a little more.
I was told spacers will bring them out to where they should be up front.
But what size spacers do i need & wher do i buy them?
The other thing we plan on doing is a set of springs to lower the car just a little to further enhance it's stance.
with 18's out back & 17's up front, what springs should i look at, i dont wanna go real low, just eat up some wheel well gap??

The last thing we plan on doing once the new rubber gets in, is to sand & polish the outside lip on the rim.
We looking at giving them that Grand sport look, with the small polished outer ring & full black centers.
I think once we get it all sorted out the end results weill look pretty bad azz.
People allready like it with the of size tires & incorrect stance.

I think that would look pretty cool. I have a 1.5 inch drop on my Z and im have those same C5 rims but in chrome(not on yet, waiting for spring to roll around) and im going as big as i can. 275's up front and 295's out back....im hoping that they fit nicely, i know ill have to do some pounding, but oh well....good luck w/ the outter rim piece, should look really good. post some pics when you finish

Ive got them on the car & they look pretty cool in all black, the main reason im going to polish the lip is b/c to rim are nicked up on the lip nicked.
The 17's work fine up front, but im having a little rubing on the 18's out back.
My friend said a little pounding out on the sheet metal behinde the wheel will take care of that.

Another memeber on the forum said i dont need spacers, i guess the fact that these rims came with 245 40 17 tires & not the correct 245 45 17's make the fronts look a little funny.

I've got the 17"x9" 10 spokes off an '02 SS and they came with F1 275/40-ZR17 and they clear great. There isn't a HUG difference in a 245/40 versus a 245/45. Only a 5% difference in aspect ratio (tire height vs. width) Depending on the rim's width I'd go with the 275/40's like my car and virtually every SS or WS6 car made, and possibly why the tires might not look "right". I'm sure the bigger front's will clear but as was said earlier the rear wheelwells will probably need "massaged" with a rubber mallet.
Post pics when you're done!
