Cayenne red metallic
1996-1998
code 96
5,833
Only 1,914 were made in 1998, making it a rare color for the 98+ body style

Monterey maroon metallic
1999-2002
code 44
6,531
This was a 2000-2002 paint color, but 45 1999 Camaros were painted this color towards the end of the 2000 production year. This color appears differently depending on the lighting (which is why I have two pics).

Dark green-gray metallic
1993-1994
code 18
9,060
This color plays tricks on your mind when you see it; it's hard to determine what color it is. It's almost gunmetal color looking in the right light.

Dark purple metallic
1995-1996
code 5
9,786
Appears plum colored in nearly all lighting conditions.

Purple pearl metallic
1993-1994
code 91
10,721
Looks charcoal colored when dirty or on an overcast day.

Mystic teal metallic
1995-2001
code 79
14,871
Often called chameleon by owners. It changes from dark green to royal blue. The way to distinguish it from Bright Teal Metallic is that it is much darker overall, and when in bright sunlight, looks more green than blue.

Medium quasar blue metallic
1994-1997
code 80
18,032
All GM records show this color being available in 1993 (with a production number of zero), thus no '93 Camaros were painted in medium quasar blue in 1993. I have cross referenced this.
In bright light, it is difficult (in pictures) to distinguish this color from bright teal metallic. Be careful if buying a car online and you're wanting this color.

Navy blue metallic
1998-02
code 28
24,043
This color appears black at night, but has purple tones to it in the highlights.

Medium patriot red metallic
1993-1995
code 71
27,408
This color was replaced by Cayenne Red Metallic for the 1996 model year. It is a much duller and darker red than cayenne red.

Bright teal metallic
1994-1996
code 37
28,749
This color is sometimes referred to as chameleon because it changes from a bright blue-teal to a bright green. The way to distinguish it from mystic teal is that it is a much brighter color. It can actually be confused for medium quasar blue in photos.

Light pewter metallic
1998-2002
code 11
29,495
This is a 1999-2002 color, but 63 1998 Camaros were made in it towards the end of 1998 production.

Sebring silver metallic
1995-2000, 2002
code 13
40,051
This color was not available for the 2001 model year. Not sure why... but it wasn't.

Polo green metallic
1994-1997
code 48
50,091
Nothing real special to say about this color other than the fact that this color was really popular. So popular, in fact, that more Camaros came in this color in 1994 than in Arctic White.

Arctic white
1993-2002
code 10
86,399
Not much to say here, it's white!

Bright red
1993-2002
code 81
102,228
This color was renamed bright rally red in 2000, but retains the same paint code as the earlier cars.

Black
1993-2002
code 41
117,355
This color was renamed onyx black in 2000, but retains the same paint code. There are more black 4th gen Camaros than any other color.

Random info:

The paint code "01" was used to denote two-tone and special paint jobs done at the factory. Many of these were B4C police cars. I have the production numbers for some of the years...

93= 633 (all pace car replicas)
94= unknown
95= unknown
96= 50 (don't know if these were B4C)
97= unknown
98= unknown
99= unknown
00= 24 (all were coupes, don't know if they were B4C)
01= unknown
02= 13 (all were B4C)

Very Interesting. I expected black, red, and white to be the most popular. However, I didn't realize exactly how rare hugger orange was. Thank You!!

Well, somebody had to be the 4th gen nerd who saved all this info over the years, so I took the job!

Just wish it paid better!

Brangeta, I have a picture or two of the MIG that I took at the house. I will try to remember to send them to you later on this afternoon when I get off of work. He brought it to the 06 Hot Rod Power Tour and I have at least one or two pics of it.

Edit: Brangeta, I'm going to go back and clean up some of my posts this afternoon to get some of the clutter out of your thread and keep it down to as much information as possible. That's the only problem with threads like these. The informative posts get scattered throughout the thread and you have to filter out all the conversation to get to the good stuff.

I think clutter is okay right now. It brings the topic back to the top and I like to hear people's suggestions and comments about what I've written. Maybe Jason can clean it up sometime if it becomes a sticky. For now, I enjoy hearing that other people are interested.

For example, what is included in the Blistein Level 3 Suspension (standard with LT4 SS's)
I have a LT4 HMS Camaro SS.

The Level III, was not standard on all LT4's but it appears that it came on all 9 of the HMS LT4s . . .
