- There are nine Hendrick Motorsports LT4 Special Edition Camaro SS's.
- The 1997 30th Anniversary LT4 SS's are SLP car #'s 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 16, 23, 43 and 71.
- The #1 car was Rick Hendrick's personal car.
- The Hendrick Autogroup owns eight Chevrolet dealerships so each dealership sold one of the HMS Camaros to the public.
- Dealerships were: City Chevrolet, Rick Hendrick Chevrolet (Durham, NC), Hendrick Automall, Performance Chevrolet, Colonial Chevrolet, Superior Chevrolet, Rick Hendrick Chevrolet (Charleston, SC) and Quality Automotive.
- MSRP was $47,250 - I believe they all sold for over $50,000.
- All nine were delivered at the same time at a gala affair on June 25, 1997 held at Hendrick MS Headquarters.
- Airfare and accomodations included.
- The delivery was to occur at Charlotte Motor Speedway but it was booked.
- Many of the nine cars are signed by SLP members, Hendrick, and some Nascar Drivers.
- Purchasers had lunch with Rick Hendrick and Terry LaBonte
- Jeff Gordon and Ricky Craven were a day late, and very few cars have their signature.
- Matt Murphy was with SLP when this program was run.
- Changes to the car are mostly appearance
- Embroidered LT4 Mats
- Hendrick LT4 Dash Plaque
- Hendrick Key Fobs
- Hendrick LT4 & SS Car Cover
- Hendrick LT4 Special Edition Sail Panel Badges
- Dual Dual Performance Exhaust
- Level III Sport Suspension
- Came with a short video of them being built at SLP
Other Info:
- Only two HMS Camaros have the all white leather, the other seven have the white with houndstooth inserts.
- The Hendricks crew did not like the exhaust, it was too quiet, but could not be changed in time for delivery.
- The dual dual exhaust is interesting, it has extra resonators AFTER the muffler just before of the tail pipes.
- Buyers had photos taken with their new Camaro and Terry Labonte at the HMS "Winners Circle".
- The cars were delivered with a case of Quaker State Syn Quest Oil & other QS, stuff - which I current do not have.
- Three of the nine were sold to mutial friends from Utah, two have been resold, the other is still owned by the original purchaser.
- One car the owner had the outside of the hood signed and clear coated.
- I have made contact with only one other HMS owner #4 of 9.
There is a start . . . . I own Hendrick Car #5, LT4 #6
My car is signed by Rick Hendrick, Jim Perkins, Jeff Gordon, Terry LaBonte, Ray Evernham, Ricky Craven, Matt Murphy, Chuck Mack & Reggie Harris.
WHY NOT!!!

I love the MIG, my god it is so fricking sweet looking!!
*prints it out, hangs on wall near Evika Project stuff, notices similarities, wonders if I had same dream builder of MIG did*
Great info on the color popularity, never know how many colors there were.

I could try to be confident and say I know enough about the Hendrick Motorsport Camaros really well, but I really don't. My specialty is '94-'95 via magazines, '00-present based on records I've been saving from the internet and getting from GM, and a vast array of general knowledge from '93-present.
The Hendricks cars have never been a group of cars I've specifically studied. If you have info on them, it'd be great if you could share some on the silver with black striped ones.
Some cars I just don't know enough about. For example, the primer black painted GMHTP Camaro with the LS7. I've never studied that, nor have I studied the ~'88 Camaro GTZ concept car (it's yellow).
This project has gotten more popular and difficult than I thought it would be, so in the interest of accuracy... If any of you have scans (high res enough to easily read) of ANYTHING 4th gen related, please send them to brangeta (at) gmail (dot) com, and I'll credit you for your help . Any pics you've taken at the big national shows where GM (or anyone else) brought out special cars would be great too if you can identify what you took a picture of!
I've been dying for pics of the Callaway C8 prototype at the '94 LA Autoshow... but anything else anyone would be willing to share would be most helpful!
It'd be interesting to see what you guys all have to share.

Brangeta, do you have anything on the Doug Rippie Motorsports DRM400? That was the car that I fell in love with 14 years ago when I was just 14 and prolly is the sole reason that I own a LT1 4th gen today!

I don't think I've ever heard of it, and a quick google search didn't yield anything that jogged my memory. Apparently the car went up for sale in 2005 though.

I thought I'd upload this video (hope I don't get in trouble for uploading it, so sorry to whoever produced it--I'd be happy to take it down if there is a problem). But it is a 1994 promotional video for the Camaro. It's really great and a cool blast from the past. You'll notice that a medium quasar blue Z28 is featured often. This color was a new color for '94, that was supposed to be available in '93.
I would venture to guess that this video was filmed in early '94, because no convertibles are featured. For those that don't know, 1994 was the first year you could buy a convertible.
I like the people who are giving testimonials. Good ole boys and gals, talkin' 'bout that 'maro.

I was messing around on ebay and actually came across a Gold 98 car (SS, M6 in fact!) that I have never seen or heard of before. I recall seeing this thread and of course, I find the info that I am looking for. Great thread!!

Only other info that I have is that the early 97 SS cars will have a mechanical tach and the 93-96 style radios. My car being SS # 106 did in fact have that.
