Blackouts

I was just wondering if blackouts are legal or illegal? I am wondering this because of maybe a certain law against the brightness of your lights or something (prolly don't even have any law like this) just making sure.

Also does anyone have a picture of blackouts on a Metallic Navy Blue 98-02 Camaro?

I believe in Texas your brakelights have to be visible in daylight at like 300 feet. So if they can do that, then they must be legal. Each state is different, but it gives you an idea.

Blackouts are really nice. I have them for the headlights and the trailblazers for the taillights. With the trailblazers there is still no excuse for not seeing any of the brakelights.

I like them, though I wish the ones I got for the headlighs would fit a little better. Thing is, in NC where I get my car inspected at, they make me take them off to do the inspection. It sucks because if you do it too much it will wear and tear on that area (nothing really noticeable though).

Also, they are a little more difficult to see at night and I have to turn on the fog lamps to see. I got a speeding ticket at night one time and the cop in NC didn't say anything to me. So obviously you are still clearly visible at night.

Thing is though, I hate the decreased visibility and having to remove and reinstall them every year. I'm debating on wether to leave them on or remove them permanantly.

I have a few pics however my digital camera is messed up and I'm waiting for the parts to build my next computer. But they do look nice on a NBM Camaro. I can attest to that.

I used this stuff called niteshades. It makes my tailights black but they are still as bright as before I spray tinted them
