Black Billet Grille

So I'm thinking of painting my billet grille black to go with the Red/Black theme of my car. If I were to use primer, do you think I would be able to get away with using rattle-can paint, or does it need to be powdercoated?

Also, does anyone know how emblems fit onto the grilles; do you modify the emblem, the grille, or neither? I'm not sure what brand grille I have but you can see it if you click the link in my signature (where it says 1993 Camaro z28).

Here's how I want the grille to look but with a Z28 Emblem:

I am also looking for a black billet grill........I like the black look on a black camaro.

Or can just buy a normal billet grill and have my body guy paint it ???

I haven't seen any Black ones for sale, but I haven't looked hard.

I'm sure you could get them painted.

I'd rattle can it, as long as you use light, even coats and clear it... it'll be fine.

I've never thought of where you can get one of those... I checked GMMG's website and Berger Chevy's and they don't have them available. They made them... so odd that you can't buy them.

Painting it seems easy enough. I'm just hoping I'll be able to get away with regular spray paint.

I rattle canned mine and it came out perfectly. 3 coats primer, 3 coats semi-gloss black, 3 coats clear. Came out great and I really like it. Page 4 of my cardomain site will show it. I still need to clean the car up and take better pics with it on though.

Eh, I'm still not liking the billet grills in the LT1 Camaros. On the LS1, as long as it's painted black, it is a nice improvement over the old plastic insert. On the LT1, it just seems like a tacky add-on whether it's silver, black, or whatever other color you might paint it.

Looks 90% good. I prefer no billet at all, but it is nice that it is black.
