I don't know where you are located but the best SS like hood I have ever seen is the VFN 3 inch SS/Cowl hood. Its the same hood that I have on my car and its fantastic looking. There are a few on this board who have the hood.

One member detroit something has the hood. I'd search for pictures of that before you went with the stock SS hood. In my honest opinion the VFN makes it look like crap.

EDIT: His name is detroit1994z28 do search for his name and you'll see a few threads where the hood comes up. I'd show you some pictures of my hood but I don't have any posted or on my work computer.

If i had to do it all over again, i wouldn't buy a fiberglass hood. The fitting is not exactly the same, you might need hood pins and fiberglass are known to crack (Mine is showing some signs)

How old is your hood?

Mine didn't fist exactly perfect either. I have yet to see a fiberglass hood that fits perfect though.

If they are really off though you can use weights to get them close.

My hood is 1.5 yrs old. My bodyshop guy did his best to get it right, but still couldn't get it to sit perfect. He's a good bodyman and works on high end cars like Ferrari, Lambo's, Vipers and Porsche's. I guess i trusted that guy on ebay

Thats to bad. Mine is still as nice as it was the day I brought it home from the body shop. It doesn't any daily driving anymore but it did for a year.

I went with VFN who is a very trusted name here in chicago so I wasn't real worried about quality. If I could do it again I would get the same hood only in 4 inch instead of 3 but It's an awesome hood so can't complain.

VFN fiberglass. Mine's a cowl hood, but you can see how well it fits. There are several options for SS hoods on their site.
