Before & After (Exhaust tips)

Before:

After:

I like how it looks a lot better, I'll prob. paint the turn-downs with some black high-temp paint when I get a chance. I'd like to sell those stainless steel tips so if you want them or know somebody that does let me know, I'll let them go for relatively cheap.

Re: Before & After (Exhaust tips)

I got rid of the tips because at around 2,300-2,500 RPMs my car was making a weird "metallic vibrating"/"Wookie" noise and it turned out it was because of the tailpipes and or the tips, the guy that did my muffler doesn't have mandrel bending anyway so the tailpipes were quite crimped up so I was happy to give them the axe and he did it for free for me.

I kind of liked the before pics better, but if you are happy with the setup, that is all that really matters.

I have a video of those tips on there, I'll have to get it posted on how weird it sounded.

IMO it was all for the better that it made noise and you took them off.....

My mom has that same very weird sound coming from her 01 firebirds exhaust. So all I need to do is change the tips and it should sound normal?

Ummmm... I don't like it. It looked 50x better before.

Are you sure the exhaust hangers didn't just come loose? They are really easy to put back on, and relatively easy to come undone.

Re: Before & After (Exhaust tips)

Sorry, I like 'before' better. I've never heard of exhaust tips causing weird noises like that

Re: Before & After (Exhaust tips)

Well they were definitely the problem on my car, it wasn't the exhaust hangers.

Re: Before & After (Exhaust tips)

Yeah i liked the tips better. Maybe if your car was lowered, with some nice rims it could pull off the no tips look.
