back spoiler fin on SS's question
Ok here is a way to get to a picture of one of the SS's I looked at...go to www.autotrader.com in center enter make as "chevrolet" enter zip code as "23832" then select "find used vehicles" on next page model is "camaro"(duh) enter years as "2001 to 2001" and price range as "15000 to 25000" and distance will be 10 miles. With this info you should get one result from Whitlow Chevrolet and that is the 2001 SS that has a flat fin as you can see in the picture(pic isn't that great but trust me it is a flat fin). The window sticker has it as a 2001 Z28 and one of the options is the SS package, it did not list whether there were any SLP options. Take a look, it just takes about 1 minute to fill in the info and get to the picture, and maybe we will get some idea about this mysterious "arched fin".
Now you guys are seeing what I am asking about, and yes dealer's don't know sh$t about what they have..and just another thought...carfax don't know sh$t either! I did a report on my car and didn't even have me as an owner ( I had the car for 11 years at that time) and it didn't even have the MAJOR accident that I was in with it ($8,000 damage when the car was worth $10,000). Don't ask me how it wasn't a total loss but if you checked the site with the SS that is the dealership "that put humpty dumpty back together again"! If that is a Z28 with an SS hood...like the guy said.."what is the site to check VIN's?". If the VIN is listed on autotrader.com somebody run it if it is not listed tell me and I will go get it and then we will see what it really is..although I am sure that it is a Z28. Thanks for all the input and I am glad to have better knowledge before I make my purchase!!
Two things about that "SS"
1 - There were never any Monterrey Maroon SSs made, so there's a tip off right there. As already mentioned, wheels/tips/tires/spoiler also indicate Z28.
2 - Did you actually see this car in person? From the picture, it doesn't even look like it has the SS hood. It's a weird angle, so it's really hard to tell. Anyways, it just looks like a Z28 with SS badges to me.
