Is there any cool looking auto shifters, or ***** for the A4 93-97 z28?? If so send some pics or links!

There is no aftermarket shifter that takes the place of the stock one. If you buy an aftermarket shifter you have to modify the consol(sp?). It will fit but you have to make some modifications to make it fit. There are some other stock shifters that are interchangeables like the trans am fits the camaro and I think there are like 2 more. Dont quote me on that.

 

Take a look at my sig. I have the MBA billet **** for my A4 in red. Very easy to install and looks good. (I think)

Does it still have the button in the center???? or does it move freely?

 

yeah, how do you push the button in? And you can't lock the button down because it want go into park then! Send the install info!!!! Is that the regular billet know that goes on manuals? Let me know soon thanks man!!!!

 

I just read the MBA site... you push down the WHOLE **** to shift... it comes with a kit... i think that is really cool.... they have a variety of colors AND engravings....
I am thinking about buying it myself.

That **** is for an A4. Like he said earlier, you push the entire ball down to shift. I like it. Kinda pricey, but if you have the money, then it's cool looking.

 

Its different than the manual ****. It has a tail, instead of being a round ball. When you buy it, it comes with an adaptor, 2 set screws, and shims. The adapter slides over the shaft of the shifter and the white part inside that is pushed down. After the adaptor is installed, and the set screws tightened to the proper tightness (this takes some trial and error because if its too tight, the button will not go up and down) After the adaptor is done, the **** slides over as screws onto the top of the adaptor. If the engraving isn't aligned, you have to take the **** off, and place shims on the top of the adaptor.


This is very easy to do, I hope I didn't make it sound hard, its not. I installed mine in 10 minutes at night, in the driveway.

I Forgot one thing....To install the set screws you need a very small (forget the size) allen wrench.

 

I have the B&M style slam shifter. I also shortened the rod down so it sits lower.

Anyone know if the shifter of an automatic C5 would fit? If I remember correctly, they've got a nice looking shift boot around them? Maybe you could just put the shifter boot from the 'Vette?? I think it would look sweet with a boot, and that MBA shift ****! Heck, you could probably fool people into thinking you've got a 6-speed!!!
