Automatic Shifter

Does anybody know if it's possible to remove the factory Automatic Shifter. I hate the top style **** and I'd really like to change the handle to a B&M. Any feedback?

Well, I did away with the whole console and installed a B&M Pro Stick. Many have modified them to fit their stock consoles, though. I believe a search for "Pro Stick" will find you some info.
