Post Argh. Removing wheel lug locks without a key?

Don't ask me how or why (no I'm not stealing someone's wheels I just can't find the darned key). Looking at them, I think they are aftermarket wheel lug locks, so a dealer master key won't fit.

I hear some people have managed to pound a socket onto the locker with a sledge hammer. But I also believe you can buy a special tool with some kinda teeth that doesn't requite to be pounded on (would rather avoid trashing my rims).

Anyone?

You shouldn't trash your rims by pounding a socket on. I had to do the same thing when I bought my car, they didn't give me the key. I used a Impact socket, I wouldn't use a normal thin-walled one, and just pounded it on and spun it off.

They do sell a special socket that's made for doing just this, but you still have to pound it on, and the only way that I got mine was through a Tool Guy, no shop that I know of carries them.

OMG, I just saw this thing at Pep Boys when I had to go buy a 4 way lug wrench today! It is for lost keys and crap like that. The only thing is that it said :"Just put it on your impact wrench!" So I don't know if you can use it on a standard wrench.

I just pounded a socket on mine and went ape-**** on it. Then I bought some normal sockets. Why would anyone want to take my winter wheels... stock salad shooters?
