Post Area around headlights painted or not???

Im painting my fender and front piece tomorrow and i was wondering if the inner part around the headlight is painted black or if it is just left unpainted. My car is red and the previous owner just painted the whole thing red. On practically ever other car though there is a black area around the headlights. I cant tell if it is painted or not. Any info would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly, all 93-97 Camaros, except for black ones, came with the headlight area painted a dull black. Black Camaros came with the headlight area painted gloss black.

This is my understanding as well.

I personally like the black headlight and fog light area to contrast with the body color. However, the majority of my buds do not. I'm painting my car millennium yellow and am having these areas done in gloss black. Most of my buds wanted me to paint these areas yellow as well. Bah... I like it black

the reason they came black from the factory to stop any reflections that would blind other drivers, but i would paint them the body color just because it's easier and get black out covers.

When I bought my car, they were painted dull black. When I got the bumper repainted, they did it in glossy black, and I like it a LOT more now.

Keep it red at all costs. The thing that i hate about 93-97 Camaros is the awful black paint around the headlights. Years ago some idiot backed into the front of my car and when i installed a new front piece i had it painted it all red except for keeping the grill area black.

Keeping the headlight area paint the same as the car it gives it a more modern look (in my opinion) and makes your car unique compared to all the other used Camaros on the streets.

You can always paint the headlight area black later it you wanted to but you cant paint it red again once you paint it black unless you wanted to repaint the front all over again

That my 2 cents for whatever its worth.
