Anyone tried this?
Re: Anyone tried this?
I am confused: What are you looking for here?
The leather boot around the stock auto shifter or a Manual shifter boot, and Manual shift stick?
I think the leather around the shifter would look good, The A4 corvettes had it if I remember right....
But to make it "look" like a faux M6... That is rice.

Re: Anyone tried this?
When I did this on my '91 5.0, I did it because the leather boot looked nicer than the fuggin' bare shaft just sticking up outa the console. I wasn't trying to "fake" a manual trans, it just looked better.
If I was born yesterday and had never seen an automobile before and someone showed me the stock auto shifter with the stock auto plate and another auto shifter with the manual console plate and leather boot, I would tell you that it looks better with the leather boot.
The last thing I would do would be to hide my auto, I wish I had an auto instead of a stick. I would hit faster, more consistent times at the track and it would be easier to drive AND my rear axle would last longer.

Redblur,
my buddy had a B&M rachet shifter for his TH350, he used 6 speed console and shift book. It looked clean as hell.
