There is more than one way to get this finish. There are actually cars with chrome FX applied, which is a process (just like the lambo above) http://www.alsacorp.com/products/chr...x_prodinfo.htm

Then there is mirra chrome paint, that is painted on like regular paint like the Supra >

There is a company who makes paint that looks like 100% real chrome and is sprayed on at like 230 degrees. They did it on pimp my ride a few episodes back. Its also highly illegal in all 50 states to do this.

How much does it cost compared to painting a car a regular color? Why hasn't this been done to an F-body?

To have any car painted anything proffesionally it will cost you a good $6-8k on average. You could probably get it done at Maaco or something cheep for half of that.

I know the Supra has been running around in Hawaii for over a year now and never got pulled over for his paint. Not saying I know its legal, but I don't know that its not either.

I don't honestly see if the paint is just a different color paint why it would cost anymore than a regular paint job would. I'm talking about the Mirra Chrome Supra, not the alsacorp stuff.

Well, since we're adding cars... The Ford Shelby GR-1 was made out of aluminum, polished, and then I believe it was clearcoated.

There are some diecast Camaros in chrome...

Wow, you would think they would have painted the hood to complete the job.
