you should wait at least a month to wash it and around 3 months for waxing. it gives the paint time to breath and cure properly.i painted the car on july 4th weekend, so its had plenty of time to cure and harden up.

1. SATA makes one of the best paint guns on the market !

2. best bet is to get an 80+ gallon "dual stage" compressor, with top notch inline filter system.

I completely repainted my 95 Z28 from teal to black in my garage, one of the best things that can be done while painting in this type of situation is to completely wet down all surrounding sufaces (it keeps the dirt and dust down tremendously)

I noticed this wasnt said and it SHOULD be obvious but CLEAN the HELL out of the gun in between layers. ANY little residue can get caught up in the gun and screw it up. Befor you spray make sure you have a nice smooth spray. To test that make sure the gun is unhooked from the air. Put some Laquer in it and hold the trigger, watch how the laquer comes out, a perfect spray is a spray that doesnt swirl at all. If smoothing is in the lines the laquer will have a twirl as it comes out.

Or you can buy it for 150 bucks and have it for air tools, buffing sanding etc.

Oh okay, I see. But for painting you need a pretty big compressor, like 80 gallons or more. The one you saw was probably 20 or so, which isn't really small at all.

We have a 20 gallon compressor now, so when I go to paint my car I will probably buy an air tank to add on, and not a whole nother compressor
