Anyone paint the center caps for their wheels?
Anyone paint the center caps for their wheels?
I bought a firebird formula but it came with camaro wheels & center caps. Looks kind of retarded and i want to either change the wheels or paint the center caps so it doesn't say CAMARO on them. How would i go about painting the caps? They look like these in this link.

Would i have to sand them down and if so, what grade of sand paper? Ive never done anything like this so pls tell me exactly how to do it. Or, do they make Pontiac centercaps that will fit into the camaro wheels?
Thanks

Yeah you can sand/paint them no problem. Just sand them down w/ some fairly fine sand paper (600/800 grit), then use some primer and paint. If you want them to look pretty flawless, I would sand w/ a 2000 grit in between coats (possibly wet sand) to even out any imperfections, and coat w/ clear to keep the work you just did protected.
I don't have these rims anymore but this is what mine looked like painted black:

Its easy...don't be afraid to experiment....painting can always be sanded down!
