Anyone ever seen these stripes done before?
Re: Anyone ever seen these stripes done before?
Honestly Zee I REALLY want to see how these would look on a real image of a Camaro. I would see if Brandon could make these, he seems to be the BEST person to make the measurements and style with these cars.
I have never seen them for sale on any site or ebay or stuff like that but they can be made. I think it would look ever cooler on my Camaro since it has the "RS" Y3F sports spoiler.
These are REALLY cool stripes for real, they have the look the of the hockey stripes just a little different.

If somebody wants these they'd be best off probably having them painted by someone who is willing to lay the stripes out for a few hours. I can only imagine how bad these could look if someone just spent an hour laying out the lines. The hardest transition in doing a vinyl version would be figuring out how to do the area where it goes from the side of the car to over the spoiler. Too rounded = looks wrong, too L-shaped = looks too cheap. Plus, vinyl is only sooooo wide, theses stripes couldn't be 1 piece, they'd have to be at least two if not three pieces, and that could look odd.

^ you'd be able to break it up tho im sure. Either incorporating "Z28" or "Camaro" or "LS1" to break up the different parts. i think it could work rather well with alittle more thought. i know the original concept is sweet but would be REALLY hard to make perfect.
AND! you'd have to make it into 3 pieces, so you could open the trunk lol so problem solved! lol

lol that's true, I forgot about the trunk.
It'd be easy to make if someone had an accurate 3D model of the Camaro and could skin it or whatever. The curve of the rear quarters would be so hard for someone to figure out I think.

thats funny you mention taht Brandon. cause i have a model of my old 94 that i did a few months back. i could have it finished by the end of the week with the stripe textured on it lol

I figured this was quicker than me trying to put into words why I don't think a quick version of this will look good in real life. Somebody would have to spend a long time getting the lines to flow well with the real body of the car. The hand drawn rendering isn't realistic of a real Camaro enough. It looks great on the drawing, but I have heavy doubts about real life.
Here's some quick versions. Last one is based on McNord's design.

These definitely demonstrate why this isn't as quick and easy as some might think. The first two look horrifying, and the only reason the third looks okay is because I basically copied what McNord already spent (probably) hours trying to figure out. I think his is a better design, because it's something that looks good from all angles.
