Anybody got custom painted stripes on 98+ Camaros?

Kind of to play off my other thread. I have the vinyl stripes now but they are getting abused. What do you think it would cost me to get a good shop to paint the hood w/ the stripes on it and the lower part also? Stripes will wrap under the car like the 35th Ann stripes. Thanks.

The stripes have been on about a year in the Texas climate. Usually in a carport but it does have to sit out at work. So Im really hoping theres no discoloration. Only $350??? Wow!

O_O That's as much as the stripes option on the old Viper GTSes used to cost. I don't think it should cost that much, maybe $1000.

Is that total or just for the front?

I would think total. If it is any more than that, you'd be better off buying an airbrush, masking your car off with trash bags and doing it yourself. If I'm way off on my estimated price, if I were you, I'd just stick with the vinyl stripes. The reason cowgirl's husband's stripes were $3000 is probably just because they look to be several shades of blue, and because of the complicated flag ordeal. If you just got solid stripes they would probably be less expensive. You say you already have vinyl stripes, so are these the exact kind of stripes you want painted on? I bet the painter wouldn't charge you as much if he/she was able to use the stripes you already have applied as a stencil to draw the stripes on. Might save you a few hundred dollars if they can just trace around your vinyl stripes that are already attached.

That was just for the hood to be painted (fenders blended) & the rear hatch to be painted ( & the rear 1/4 pandles to be blended)

The same shop just did my 00 GTP (because to much snow on trapped Portable garages dont hold up well) & total cost of body work & paint was $4,400

$3000 for those stripes is rather high....although that's alot of work repainting the fenders, hood, front clip, etc. you might as well have paid another 1,000 and did the whole car so it doesn't show a difference in a year or two. nice stripes but wow that's alot unless they used some sort of candy, chrome or chromillusion base.
