Vinyl what? I installed my white face gauges by cleaning the cluster, wetting the vinyl with soapy water, getting it lined up, drying it up a little, squeeging (sp?) the bubbles out, then letting it sit.

I actually don't recommend it. I put vinyl on some interior trim and a few months later after being in the hot sun its beginning to lift. I used 3m super 77.

Dont get it soaking wet. You'll never get all of the moisture out if you do. take a spray bottle, add one or two DROPS of liquid soap, an once of isopropyl alochol (rubbing alcohol) if you have some, and then fill with water.

Make sure the surface you are applying to is CLEAN!!! Use the alcohol if you have it to clean the surface. Spray the surface a couple times so its moist, and spray the adhesive side of the vinyl a couple times too, just get it damp, no need to drench it. Position the vinyl where you want it and slowly work the water out with a squeegee, from the middle out. Remove the transfer tape from the top of the vinyl when all sqeegee'ing is done. if the vinyl lifts with the tranfer tape, that means there is still moisture back there so.... keep squeegee'ing. Give it enough time and you'll get it all as long as you didnt soak it. Any bubbles can be popped with an exacto blade, and the water or air worked out.

I think he was reffering to adhesive backed vinyl. 3M Super 77 is a spray adhesive, which you wouldnt use with adhesive backed vinyl.
