Alternatives for front liscence plate mounting????

I get pulled over and b*tched at constantly for this. Where else can i put it instead of drilling holes on the car. It just looks so unnaturaul for these cars to have a front liscense plate.

And i think in the dash is kinda ghetto.

Ive heard some put it on the air dam, can i get away with this?

Also the airdam will be out of the question with GFX but when that day comes ill probably just throw the front liscense plate away. Because im not drilling holes in it.

I know that there is one out there.

Check out either:
www.afterthoughtsauto.com

or

www.slponline.com

I think it is at afterthoughts and goes for around 40 dollars. I ripped off my front license plate also, but basically said screw it. I considered trying this...but NO ONE that I have ever seen has had any pics of this on their car. I'd do more research on where it was from if I wasn't at school right now.

I'm sure someone has tried this frame...it looks like it drills underneath the front fascia or body kit and then just comes up...but you can still put a grill, etc. on.

Hope this helps a little,

Mark

i have the slp holder. when you put it on you need to bend it back to the slope of the bottom of the bumper. otherwise it will stick way out and look like a mini snow plow.

It doesnt look to bad but no plate looks 100 times better.

Also just found this. For 10 bucks it's sorta cheap...and atleast you can put on a grill. I still sorta don't like the look of it, but atleast you won't get a ticket.

I just have mine mounted to the airdam, looks decent, and works just fine, although I've had a cop tell my GF (Didn't have the ***** to tell me) that her BF needs to put his License Plate in the "correct" spot...

I think part of the problem is the size of the license plate- they don't need to be so big. I cut my down and built a custom frame for it (now only 5 in. high). Then I attached it to a modified SLP bracket (mounted a little lower). It makes a good bumper as well- I have saved my nose twice:

Wow! That thing looks great for a front plate!

I have an SLP bracket that I am waiting to install on mine. I am waiting to get my front bumper cover repainted though. That's when I'll have the holes filled from the stupid stock bracket.

I'm going to do what you did. How did you end up moddng the SLP bracket? Did you just cut it all down to fit?

Do you happen to have any other pics of it? Side, closeup etc?

Great job!!!

This won't be for everyone- I made the license plate frame out of wood, painted it, and put a few layers of acrylic on it (weather protection). I cut off the piece of the bracket that jogged out and in and then reversed the mounting- the part that was supposed to go to the car went to the plate, etc. I'm going to make a new plate frame out of plastic but, for now, this worked out pretty well.

what about for T/A's? I got a fix it ticket a few weeks back, but I dont even have the plate to put on the front. So if worse comes to worse and I NEED to get it, then how do I mount it on my car w/o drilling holes?

air dam

i live in NY City where NYPD will hit you for everything you have, i put mine on the air dam. Although i HAVE gotten pulled over for "no front plate" , every cop says if you show me your front plate i wont give you a ticket, well we walk to the front of the car and either bend on a knee or walk back about 50 feet so it can be noticed, they then tend to have some lame *** comment then say puti it up front. Well it worked 4 times. Not telling you to do it, but works for me.

*hint* the tickets are only $15 If you get tired of gettin hassled for it, just bolt a plate on. If you don't want to drill holes, then well, I dunno.
