Alternative to T tops shades

My 00' didnt come with any and ebay wants between $50-85 for a set. I made a simple temporary solution. I lined the outer edge with velcro and stretched the carpet to it. Once the T top is placed on the car its a snug tight fit. No water leaks also, just need to finish a bit of trimming.

Thats a GTO key on your ring

Good Idea! I used my shades almost the entire time I owned the car, they were the best!

i actually talked to a tint shop about doing that but they told me that the tint will hold in more heat and could possibly crack or shatter over time.....not sure if true but going off what i was told by a very good tint shop

What color is your interior, I have some decent tan shades that I'd let go for alot less than that. Also, nice key.

Even w/the tint they still let in a lot of heat and cold that a cover keeps out.

whats the difference between a window and a t-top window? I dont understand why it would crack if its no different than my other windows?????

the difference is that heat comes in via light, and stopping that light and allowing only 5% to come in would by all means make the car cooler. As far as letting heat out, it wont, because a car is a closed envelope unless your window is opened slightly.

Basically I dont understand how heat is let out without tint, and how limiting light from coming in which causes heat, would limit heat getting out?
