Does any one know if anyone has Tried "Gull Wing" doors instead of lambo doors? Gull wing doors are the delorian style ones, I always thought it looked similar to how a TTop roof looked.

IMO, F-Body doors are to big for that kind of fabrication. Look at the size of the delorian doors.

 

Exactly. It would take major work to do that.

 

Even if someone did the fab work come on, it would look stupid.

 

Good lord those doors would be heavy to lift up on a Camaro . Interesting idea, but I'm not sure how easily you'd be able to get out of the Camaro if it had those; you'd probably hit your head.

 

yeah I know it would take alot of work, but I just thought it was a cool idea, personally I cant stand the Lambo style ones and if I had to change i'd try this.

 

It would require a LOT of work, but it is definitely an interesting idea that I know I myself have toyed around with researching a few times -- never followed through with the researching of it though. I can imagine you'd have to entirely make new doors due to how heavy ours are, probably make the doors out of carbon fiber since it's so strong and such, but even then I would think you'd have to have some steel in the shell portion, which is going to weigh it right back down. Then some sort of tubular metal frame around the t-tops and a very heavy duty hinge and you'd also need some sort of strut to hold the doors open while you get in and out. It's a lot of engineering.

 

Why do people hate lambo doors so much? I cant say Im a huge fan but I think I would like them if I saw them in person.
