All LT1 history gurus in here.

Could you get a Black 1995 Camaro Z28 with the Black/Flat Black headlight two-tone paintjob from the factory?

I recently got in a front end accident. Allstate fixed it up. The only thing is they did the two-tone Black/Flat Black paint now. I couldn't believe they didn't black gloss the whole front end like it was when I took it in.

I thought flat black was the way all of em came from the factory. Regardless you could've told the paint shop that instead of this you wanted that and they would probably have done it if it cost the same...

My 93 Z28 was Gloss black all around

I would take it back and make them fix it.

Yea, I know its not a big deal and I could/should have specified what I wanted.

I believe that All 93-97 Black Z28s were all gloss black from the factory. I am pretty sure you could get a Black V6 Camaro with the flat black 2-tone, I think I have seen this before.

My question was: Could you get a Black Z28 2-tone from the factory?

This is the way I remember it as well. If your car was black from the factory it had gloss black headlight areas.

Every black LT1 F-Body I've ever seen that has a factory paint job has the flat black front end treatment just like any other LT1 Camaro. I've seen the gloss black done on repaints, but not on stock.

When i got my front clip repainted i asked on this board wether i should go gloss or flat black. Someone posted that they ordered their black LT1 new and it was an option for the head lights to be flat or gloss.

My old 93 was Patriot Red with gloss black headlamp areas. My 96 is gloss black all the way around. I'm not sure if they were repaints though. My buddies 95 Chameleon Green has gloss black as well. The only flat black I've seen was on an 94 electric blue Z28 I saw at a car lot.

Re: All LT1 history gurus in here.

Ive had 2 Black 97 Z28's with their original paint on them.

One with 21,000 miles last year. Both were gloss black all the way around with no flat black on them.

All black Z28's had gloss black around the headlights and foglights.

There was no option to get it flat on a black car from the factory , the black cars, as fact all gloss black .

Could you post pics? i'd be interested to see what it looks like with the gloss/flat combo.

This is correct.

I would go flat black on a gloss black car if the choice were up to me. I think it would look unique.

LOL, this is coming from the guy that told me that a Berger panel would look like crap on a Black Z.
