Talking air deflector question

alright, so you know how on 1st and 2nd gen. camaros/firebirds (and many more muscle cars in general) they all had like these big-*** air deflectors that really added to the appearance of the cars in my opinion? well are there any options to give a 4th gen that same kind of look? i know there's already an air deflector underneath the car but its kind of hard to see... i think it would look pretty cool and give the 4th gen. an even more "muscular" look.

Are you talking about a body kit type thing like Mach 1's have? I know someone makes a stainless steel deflector that looks pretty good.

pics if you have them LT1 POWR. The only idea I would have would be a chin spoiler from RKSport. I hate how the LT1s nose is so high looking also.

Well there are two types of air dams. The first type is the one that goes all the way forward, like the Corvette racers and NASCAR have. These stop almost all the air from going under the car and with the addition of the splitter creates down force on the nose. With this type you have to have openings in the front of the car so air can get to the radiator.
The second type is what you have on the 4th gens. This dam is used to both limit air from under the car but also, and more importantly, direct air up into the radiator. Vertually all the air going though the rad. comes from under the front of the car, so if you put a big air dam on the very front it will block the air flow to the rad. and your car will over heat.
When you get a lower aero kit from RK, et.al. you get a larger air dam to replace the stock one, because of the reduced air flow though the rad.

Ditto. Exactly what he said. That's the best advice you can get!

Z28SORR has it right. I put the ground effects on my car and it was definitely getting warm. I crafted a larger air dam out of some metal from Lowe's and it made all the difference in the world for cooling.
