I've seen one somewhere before. In a magazine I think. I think the stocker is like 1 3/4" or something? Just trying to give myself a little more room to work with in the future when I go 18* on my LT1. Nothing really radical, maybe 2 1/2". Anybody know?

Theres a VFN 4" in the midwest section for sale. Or http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm sells SS Style hoods with a 3" cowl.

Oh, that doesnt look too good with a cowl. I did find a 93-97 SS hood on ebay with the '98+ SS cowl on it. Dont have anything but a frontal pic, but Im curious to know what that would look like.

I like the LT1 style scoop alot better than the LS1 style scoop, it looks a lot meaner. But its up to you.

Well I dont know. Because I didnt know this option existed. I'd really like to see the two side by side, it's really hard to visuallize; hard to tell if the LS1 style would blend in to the LT1 body style.

Really what I would like is just a plain jane bolton LT1 glass SS hood without paying a fortune.

Well, the LT1 SS hood has a wider scoop towards the rear while the LS1 SS hood kind of tapers in towards the rear.

How much are you looking to spend?

LT1 SS hood.

LS1 SS hood.

Yeah, I like the LT1 SS style better. If they had a slight increase in the LT1 SS cowl I'd get one, but that of hood looks like a HUGE cowl and looks like a steak someone cooked way too long... or something

I'll just stick with the LT1 SS hood. Hopefully when I get my 18* top end together, it wont interfere with the hood, or I might be selling it to get a cowl.

If the regular LT1 SS hood doesnt have enough clearance, you can try one of the bigger LT1 SS hoods from these guys.
http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm
They also have some cowl hoods.
Here are some pictures of one installed.

Nah. Looks out of place. Too tall IMO. It would be cool though if someone were to use one of those and plumb the inlet off the TB into the scoop though

I would have to agree, I for one, prefer the smooth look of the 2.5" Harwood. It's not to big and it flows with the rest of the car IMO.
