Aftermarket SS Spoiler fit

Are the aftermarket or OE for that matter SS spoilers supposed to have a gap between the two pillars or are they supposed to sit flat on the decklid? If they are supposed to sit flat and dont quite do it should they be fastened down somehow or what? Pickin my car up from the body shop later and they said that the spoiler fits great but the two pillars dont quite touch the decklid, and there was nothing they could do to make them touch.

Re: Aftermarket SS Spoiler fit

Well on my spoilerdepot SS spoiler, there are screws that hold down the center supports. At first I didnt drill the holes to use the center screws, but there was a pretty big gap so i decided to use the center support screws to tighten it down and lessen the gap. Now it looks good, there is a small gap, but just enough to fit a strip of that gasket stuff that they send with the spoiler. It is barely noticable and looks like a factory spoiler. Im not sure about other spoilers though.

I just looked. The stock one doesn't quite touch. It's about 1 or 2 millimeters above the hatch but has something between the two pieces. Not sure what it is... Looks somewhat like a clear adhesive, but I'm not sure.
