Adding blue on the inside door locks and gauge cluster?

You know how there is a red stripe on our door locks... Well i want to put dark blue stripes on there instead. Does anyone know where i can pick some up?

Also... has anyone ever replaced the gauge cluster lights with a blue bulb alternating with a white bulb? So 1 blue bulb to 1 white bulb? And install guides on this? I would like a bluish tint to the gauge cluster to match the hid style head lights and blue door lock stripes.

On the door locks I would suggest getting some good, high quality, high wear tape/decal material of some kind. Brent may be able to hook you up. The center part rubs up against the opening though as it goes in/out, so paint would rub off easily.

The gauges, yes, people have put blue in there. catsnet put blue LED's in all of his dash lights, and they look very good. Maybe he will see this thread and give you more info on that - if not, I will post what he told me (want to give him a chance to answer because he's the one that knows for sure). He also put white LED's/Bulbs in all his interior lighting (rearview map lights, dome light, console light, everywhere).

I don't know how mixing and matching would look on the white/blue/white/blue dash though. It may turn out just like that, and not blend together. Have you just considered some blue indiglo gagues?

All very possible.

If you stagger blue and white bulbs , you will not get what your wanting . It WILL light up blotchy due to way the light is directed thru the lexan plate the gauge face lays over . If you just want a HID look color , the bulbs you want to get are Xenon blue 194 bulbs thru Macewen motorsports . They are a high intensity gas filled bulb , and even though they are labeled as blue , it lights up pure white with a blue tint like HID . Add that to the fact that ALL camaros have 1 layer of blue silkscreen over the white to create the backlight color on the guage face ( thats how chevy achieves white backlighting with a normal yellowish incandesent bulb ) and I'd about gaurantee this bulb will give exactly what ya want . The Xenon blue bulb will also let the Red portions of the cluster including the needles to still be bright red when the lite up , as opposed to a true blue bulb that would make the red stuff look dull and the everything else wouldnt be all that bright or uniform either .....blue is a hard color to filter light thru with incandesent bulbs .

Both of you have been a great help.
90 Z28SS thats exactly what i want as far as the lighting goes. And thanks for being so thorough.

For the door locks I know it'd have to get some type of tape but Im clueless on where to get it.

if you look at the other auctions that guy has.. they say for different cars, but the quantity is all the same. So there is blue, with the same amount you'd get, just says a different car. I guess he's doing that to appeal to more car types or something.
