About Torque Thrust II's...

OK, maybe this is just a vent for me, but hear me out...

The TTII's are definitely one of the best looking wheels that I have seen on the F-Body. Everyone that has them - congratulations, they look great.

BUT - Isn't it getting a little out of hand? It seems like anytime anyone asks a question like "wheel suggestions?" everyone and their brother suggests TTII's. Like I already said, they look good, and I am not at all bashing anyone for having them, or liking them. But they are getting a little over-rated if you ask me - and they are definitely not a one of a kind wheel anymore. Just like a post I read the other day "I liked them [TTII's] until I went to a show and every other car had them - literally."

Maybe I am just too stubborn to understand it, but before long, the TTII wheel will be to F-Bodies what Flowmaster Exhaust is to 5.0 Mustangs. I hate that sound, and guess what, I hear it endlessly from every 5.0 that exists.

Please excuse me for venting on you all, but please, consider other wheels before these get ruined by a plague of "everyone has them" syndrome.*

*If they haven't already...

They are a bit over rated... I have them on my 96SS and while they do look pretty bad ***, they are the "cheapest" wheel I have every owned. The rim portion is decent quality but I can't get the "spokes" to shine like I think they should. I've tried everything. Next is sandpaper but I'm not sure if I want to put forth that much effort on them

I think they are great looking wheels. But walking around that car show for 5 1/2 hours, the wheels did get pretty old.
I am in no way exaggerating when saying they were on every other car. I even saw them on a few cars outside of the carshow!

When I decide to get wheels I may go with TT2s, only because no one in my town has them.

I guess I would say they are a bit over rated also.

I went with the Torque Thrust D's. It is a more classic look and looks sharp. Not too many people using these down here in S Fla.

Those are nice! I just about went with them on my '71 truck, but didn't think they would look quite right on orange. Plus I was in a heavy chrome stage then, so...

So far everyone has seen exactly my point...even Brent who already has a set...thank you Brent for understanding what I was saying. Well everyone else - what's your thoughts? Why should I change my outlook on them?

I get where you are coming from. Having only bought my Z about 6 months ago, rims have been one of those things that will get changed eventually. I thought about the TTII's, but after reading so many posts on this forum about what people think, I have decided that they won't be as original as I had hoped or would have liked. So, when the money starts burning the hole in my pocket, I will pursue a different rim just so everyone here can talk about a different rim instead.
