98+ Front End Conversion Poll... Which Hood?

Yeap, real close to getting a hood to almost complete the 98 Camaro front end conversion, I just wanted a few opinions to see which hood you guys like...

Couple of q's also...

What's the best quality SS hood around? I'm thinking of course it's SLP, but how much $$$? I see one on eBay for $650 Shipped by U.S. Exotics and was wondering if anyone has one of these? And how good are they???

Same thing for Suncoast creations "Z-Style" Hood... it looks real clean and a genuine look...opinions on it anyone?

if you get the ss, go with this one !!
it looks closest to a real (true) "98+"ss hood !!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1875484289

most of the other aftermarket 98+ SS hoods look like the scoop off a 93-97 SS hood stuck on a 98+ hood
the factory 98+ SS hood has a more lower sleeker look to the scoop!
compare the two side by side and you'll see what i'm talking about...

Personally I don't like the way cowl hoods look on 98+ Z28's, or at least the one's I've seen.

I'd say either the SS or stocker.

Just my .02 .

I know what you're talking about Chucky, I had the 93-97 SS Hood. I really like the genuine look, so most likely I'll get an SS hood...

cool, I just finished buying all my parts for the 98+ front end conversion... UPS finished bringing them yesterday so Im pretty excited about it. I personally would get the SS hood... I just bought an GM original SS hood from one of the members of this board for $700. Im gonna pick my car up tomorrow(it was getting a new windshield and radiator put in) and start putting on the new front end.

VFN is working on some nice stuff...

The tall SS is about to hit the market.
The race car's cowl hood is under consideration, Layne says he will work on it more quickly if folks show interest.
Prices are in the $475 area.
Good luck

Name the brand hood you have seen with the LT1 scoop.
Most LS1 guys I know like the LT1 scoop better, but none that we have ever seen puts that scoop on an LS1 hood, and I have seen alot of different manufacturer's hoods.
Give us the manufacturer that does this, it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

The war bird hood at the top of the page. Just like the trans am hood.

you decide !
1. fiberglass fabricators 98+ SS hood
http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/Fibergl...c/Mvc_126x.jpg

2. american sportscar 98+ SS hood
http://www.americansportscar.com/ima...hoto/s-630.jpg

3. chevrolet/slp "TRUE" 98+SS hood
http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/imag...ry_major01.jpg

See how wide the rear of the scoop on the fiberglass fabricators hood is (just like the 96-97 style)

Warbird is also a nice looking hood as long as you have the right ground effects for it... hmm...

I went with some aftermarket parts for the conversion... so far so good on fitments. Although the one problem I seem to be having is putting on the corner lenses, they seem to want to angle upward and have a gap at the bottom. But I don't think it's anything a little trimming can take care of.

Chucky, I got a question about the impact absorber. I don't have to replace it right? I can just trim it... and how and where to trim??? Thanks.
