98-02 ss wing
98-02 ss wing
i need to know where the cheapest place to buy a 98-02 ss wing with the 3rd brakelight is. i found 300 shipped here to zipcode 21060, but it seemed a lil shady, id like to talk to a different place. any help is appreciated
You're obviously talking aftermarket...original gm parts or WAY more expensive. I am getting mine for 300 shipped too...I am thinking it is probably the same place you might be getting yours from. I has concerns too, because there was something about a mold Wings West is redesigning for better fitment...I called Wings West and found out it's true, so...I went ahead with my order. Should have the spoiler here in another week or so. IMO, I think 300 shipped is a really good deal. That puts the actual cost below 250.

try www.octanemotorsports.com $300 shipped.
That's where mine is coming from. They're taking longer than I would have wanted...but like I said...it's Wings West that's taking their time on it with that redesign of the mold. I should have it here this week or early next week though.

I bought my 98+ SS spoiler from a guy here online parting out his wrecked SS. I didn't want to gamble with an aftermarket unit.
BUT
I found in this months Popular Hot Rodding that GM Restoration Parts now sells the GM SS replacement spoilers & hoods with or without air boxes for 96/97 series SS cars. Composite like the originals, primered up ready to go. The 96/97 SS spoiler sells for $399.00 (re-use your brake light & hdwe) The hood alone goes for $799 and it's $999 with airbox, filter and replacement struts. The airbox looks a little different than my original SS box though, but it is still funtional. www.gm-restorationparts.com or your local GM dealer

I just bought a GM spoiler of a local guy for $583, the only thing that sucks is that it doesn't have the brake light included. I talked to a parts guy at a Chevy dealership and he said that I will have to talk to someone from SLP. I waso n their website and saw a FAQ section where it stated they won't sell parts to you if you don't own a SS. I can find VIN information but I don't know how serious they are about nosing into the info you supply to see if you actually own it.
