Hi all,
I am wondering about any sort of general maintenance for the convertible top system on my '97 Z28. Last fall I had a new top installed but I'm wondering about everything else. For instance, do I need to lubricate anywhere on the frame? And what about the hydraulic system...does it require some sort of maintenance? Should I be checking the fluid or maybe changing it?

I can't really answer your questions but you can use this link to download a free service manual for the 96, which should be the same for the convertible top section. Note that the manual is in a few sections; get them all if you can.

My 97 service manual calls for "Microlub GL-261" or equivalent on the bushing and screws. The top Hydraulic fluid is plain 10W oil.

 

GaryDoug I couldn't get anything from that link except a blank page. Z28SORR thanks, I think I'll try that and search some more for a service manual too. I have a Haynes manual but it does not mention the convertible top system at all.
