97 Trans am tail light swap

Does anyone know if it is possible to swap 97 Trans am tail lights with ones from a 98-up Trans am

Yes they interchange, I have LT1 style checkered tailights on my V6 bird. And no, you don't need a new center piece.

The guy I got them from was kind of a loser, though
