If its truely out of a 97 Camaro then it should work. That place was pretty good to deal with and their feedback is awesome. I think they would refund you if it wasn't out of the correct model car. I bought my 97 cluster from them and it worked great so i guess they know what they have. The tranny doesn't matter, the clusters are all the same. Most of the time these places try to list as much info as possible just incase there is a problem they have clearly told you everything about the part/car. You have to remember most of these salvage yards don't know the interchange of parts like these so they tell you as much about the car so you can research it on your own.

I always find it funny that people seem to have trouble finding 97 clusters. When i first bought my dash i figured i'd spend forever finding a 97 cluster. The first time i did an ebay search i came up with one and bought it for cheap. I've searched on ebay for other people and i always find them right way for cheap.

I think I searched for a couple months on ebay and couldn't find a '97 Camaro cluster... I found a guy that had one off another message board and he wanted some ridiculous price... Settled for the T/A cluster.

How's the TA cluster treating you? did you keep the 69 z28 decal on it?

The cluster looks great and works fine... Definitely looks better with the bezel... I decided to keep the decal, but may change it later on to the style I had on my original cluster, don't know... Did you ever get your stuff from Macgewen?

Nope i never got my bezel from Macewen. I sent Ryan an email saying to cancel my order and don't send it. I had already contacted my credit card company and told them to cancel the charges if they showed up. I just went out to a local salvage yard and paid $40 for a used V6 firebird cluster. It took a lot of polishing to get the lense to look like new again but it looks great.

I've been trying to follow but got lost in the middle some where. So, I have an early 97 with the Mech. Odo., will the 97 cluster with the Digital Odo. be a DIRECT swap?

Damn i can't believe you let that thing go for $30. I bet it'll be hard to find one that price again. You should of just set your bid really high right at the end. I would of put my bid in at about $75 right at the last minute that way if the guy trys to up his bid $5-10 he's still not high enough and runs out of time before he out bids you. I'll see if i can find one. Judging by the buyer it looks like they're just going to resale it. You might try seeing if you can pay him a premium and get it.

That's a shame. I've been thinking about doing the 200mph thing and getting a spare to send in. After reading this post I thought about bidding on this one but didn't because you kind of had dibs on it. I would have pushed it to at least $100.00.

trans ams and camaros have different clusters, the 97 camaro has ls1 interior, you can buy a 98-02 camaro cluster and put it in the 97. (assuming we are talking about V8s only, not sure for the V6s)

And with that, you're totally wrong. The clusters are wired the same for the both camaro and birds of the same year but not all clusters from 97+ interchange. Have you tried this? i have so i can speak from experience. 98+ clusters will not work in a 97 car with out a lot of electrical work.

Me too i would of at least bid $75 on that one. If it was going to sell for $30 i would of bought it and just resold it some where because i know people will pay a premium for the 97 cluster. As i suggested to him you might try emailing the buyer and seeing if he'll sell it. I see he has 10k + feedbacks and most of them are for selling car parts. I imagine he's just going to turn a profit on it.
