'97 5-speed ctr console work in '94 6-speed?

Will the newer console from a '97 5-speed work for a 6-speed car? Thanks!

Yes, it will work fine. It will just have a shift pattern for a 5-speed instead of a 6-speed. You can change just the shifter part later on, or just take some paint that matches the console.
