Post 95 to a 98+ conversion

I have a 95 Trans-am and was wondering if it is possible to rplace the front clip of a 95 with a 98+ . If so what is need. and after the front clip is replaced will the 98+ hoods work as well.

I am hopeing so . I need to replace the hood and front cover on my 95 and i figured that while i was at it i might as well upgrade .. If it is possible anyone who has a clue how to do it let me in it on.

A few on here have done it. You will need fenders also. The 95 fenders DON'T match up. You need a a hood, fenders, nose(front clip) and then a few other little parts.

Check for a post in the search to find more, because I am not sure about everything, but i know you need ... fenders, hood , front clip. Also you need a new radiatior support. (That long plastic black piece you see as soon as you pop the hood that runs across the top of the cross member. It's held with 3 bolts i think. It usually has the stickers with the belt routing , emissions diagram etc. on it.) That piece should not cost too much.

Anways , search for a post by Reznorz28 . He did it ,and I just read it a few minutes ago. It was a few post above yours. (Use words like 98+ front end conversion when you search.) You can also just search under his name. They have alot more info than me, but again i know you need the 98+ fenders too.

Not sure of the parts needed to swap a firebird front end, but I swapped to a 98+ Camaro front. Firebird conversions are a bit more expensive, because you have the more expensive headlights, but its a pretty straight forward swap. You need to check if the mounting brackets for the nose, headlights, or fenders has changed, if the foglights are different, turn signals, if any wire splicing is required, if the single headlights need anything modified to work with the 98+ dual lights. Stuff like that. And the swap can be pretty expensive if you use new OEM parts. Best bet is to call up TA Creations or Speed Automotive and see if you can buy a used front end full conversion. The only way that would be cheaper is to do what I did and wait forever for parts to show up at junkyards or people parting out their cars. It took me 6 months to acquire all the parts I needed but I got them all in red except for one fender and I spent less than $500. The most expensive part was the headlights at $150 a pair used.
