Edelbrock Exhaust Questions

Hey all,

I'm thinking of getting the Edelbrock catback system for my 95 Z28 and I have a few questions:

1) Anyone have this system and how does it sound? (I've heard the clips from the Edelbrock site and it sounded awesome but I would like some non-biased input)

2) Are the tips turn downs? That's what it looks like from the pictures I've seen. If they are turn downs, can they be cut to install a set of dual tips? And can someone suggest a nice set of duals to install.

3) Does anyone have any pictures or sound files you can upload (or point me to!)?

Thanks!

I was not to impressed with the sound of the eddlebrock rpm series muffler. The car i heard it on had a cat back ans did indeed have the turndowns on it. I imagine with different hangers you could put much nicer tips on the system, or have the muffler shop do it for you. The only thing i really see the eddlebrock system going for it is a reasonable price and stainless construction. I wouldnt buy it for flow or sound. But thats just my opinion.

I have the Edelbrock catback on my Trans Am (it was on the car when I bought it). I think the sound is quite nice, not as nice as a Borla though. I had the turndowns cut off and put some dual tips on it. For the money I would probably go with the SLP loudmouth with the tips already included. Although that system may be too loud for your taste. www.fasttoys.net has some nice add on tips. I have the square (Borla knockoffs) on mine. Just coat the inside of the tips with high temp ceramic paint and they will last for a while.
