interior painting/ interior conversion

Hey I have a 93 z and wanted to maybe upgrade it to the dash of the newer 98 -02 models is this possible as in will all of the pieces fit correctly i know that they have a very similar body style but just wanted to make sure I would be able to do this without a problem before buying all of the parts thanks.

Also I want to paint all of the parts a glossy black and want to smooth everything out since as you may know the cars peices are textured just wondering if anyone can help out with what I would need to purchase to do this the right way with out having to do any type of fiberglass work.

Thanks,

Landon

For an upgrade, just go to a junkyard and buy someone's interior. I think you have to do some modification to the air vents, as they don't line up correctly. As for sanding and painting, very easy to do just sand it down nice and smooth, primer and wetsand to smooth it nice and good, then base coat.

There is kind of a how to guide. I personally would not paint the interior pieces as i've painted the plastic/fiberglass pieces in my 69 Mach 1 and they tend to scratch easy. I've also repainted my center console insert probably 3 times because it's gotten scratched. You'll end up spending the rest of your life fixing scratches.

I agree. I also used a high gloss paint for the dash with a old car I had and the glare was horrible.
