93-96 taillights/berger panel

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to put a set of the 93-96 taillights in a 96-97 car. I kinda like the old design better than the three way split. Also does anyone know where they sell Berger panels? I searched all over the place and couldn't find anything. I did come across a post where someone said they sold them aftermarket, but never said where. One more question, on ecklers camaro they sell the chrome lettering inserts but they are expensive as hell! Are these actually like plastic inserts? Or are they just the decals that i could get cheap on eBay?

They dont sell the Berger panel.

You just take your off and paint it. A true Berger panel is flat black, like mine. Some people like the gloss look.

Just get the decals on ebay, same crap.

As for the taillight, yea that no problem

lol Im the opposite I want the newer rear tail lights.

However I do believe you have to change the wiring a bit in the rear. Just a different way of hooking it up if I remember right.

Cool thanks guys. I did some looking around and the only other thing i found were stainless steel lettering with 3m tape that just sticks in like the vinyl lettering..still 50 bux so maybe ill just see how the cheap ebay chrome vinyls do.
As for the tails, any clue on how easy that rewire job is? I like the earlier tails cuz they flow much better with the painted berger panel.

You can get all sorts of vinyl inserts from Brent Franker's site, and he's a supporting vendor.

They sell vinyl, steel, and even urethane letter inserts.

Vinyl is the cheapest.

Steel looks great, but is pricey.

Urethane is a little cheaper than steel, and comes in alot of colors.

The two color (early taillights) look way better than the three color lights, much more sanitary and clean, imho. I tried both too and my wife who does really get into cars said the same thing.

Exactly what I was thinking Tom. So is there any wiring change to put the older ones in and is it a PITA? Or are they just bolt in and plug and play? As for the vinyls i found them chrome for $15 on eBay. If they look like garbage I'll just buy the stainless 3m tape ones.

Yah but rksport jacks their prices waaay up. Berger panel is off and ready for gloss black paint. Anyone know anything about whether the 93-96 headlights will work on my 97 z?

I've used both the vinyl decals and the stainless steel. Vinyl isn't the easiest thing in the world to apply, and if there are bubbles in it or anything, a few carwashes will make it worse. Eventually, it'll peel. Stainless steel is the way to go.

Do you mean tail lights? If so, yes, just need to modify them a LITTLE. Cant quite remember how, but its nothing much, and youll figure it out pretty quick once you get them side by side.

Also, to get them to light up the same way as they do on 93-96 cars, a little wiring alterations need to be done. I cant remember what exactly I did, but some searching on here and im sure you can find it. Theyll work just fine without it, but they wont look quite right IMO.
