It depends on where it's broken. If it broke on just the lid (arm rest) part and not the console you can get a lid cheap on ebay. If you broke the console, well you have to get a console.(also on ebay)

Cheap? They are about 60-75 new on ebay, and finding a used one that isn't broke is impossible. Just switch to the 97+ console.

Amen to above post. I upgraded to the 97+ console, much MUCH better. The hinge is steel.

Welp, I remembered seeing some cheap ones but I guess they ended.

But yea go ahead and upgrade to the newer console.

Man I need to put my old console on ebay they are selling high.

Seriously! I had my old one sitting around forever. It was in used condition, but the hinge was perfectly mint cause mine broke and I had gone to the dealership and bought a new lid -- was like $80. I was going to throw it away, but my dad told me to throw it on ebay so I did. Sold for $150! Although it helped that the subtitle to the auction was "the ONLY 93-96 center console complete with WORKING hinge!" lol

Mine just broke today...its just the little arm part that holds the lid into the base part. Some liquid cement and hot glue should make it work though.

Not going to pay $70 for that crap.

Dumb 96 console.

I do like the 97+ ones better.

Why not just get a hinge from the hardware store and mount it? Thats what I did...

The gap is the only thing that keeps me from wanting to go to a 97+ setup.

I actually shoved a really fluffy snowhat into the open space and it blended in quite well. There was still a gap, but it wasn't so bad...

'Course, you can be like me and fiberglass a 10.5" touchscreen bezel and fill the gap.

All the more reason to buy one of those and swap it in too.

At one point I really wanted to do all of that. If I was in the states cool, but it just doesnt seem feasable to do here in Bahrain.

If I were you then since you don't want to upgrade and since the replacement stuff is expensive. I'd just buy a hinge like stated above and fix it if possible.
