74-78 to 70 conversion

I'm planning on converting a 74-78 camaro to look like a 70. Any one on here ever done this? The front will be easy but the rear is going to take some doing. I have seen a t/a that was done before and look sweet.

75+ has a different rear window.

1970-1973 Rear:


1974 Rear:


1975-1977 Rear:


1978-1981 Rear:


A 74 model would be your best bet, but even then it'll take some work to make the rear right.

Yes it does . But it can be converted .I will be using 70 rear 1/4 panels and tail panel

It can be done I found some pictures of the t/a that was done .If I can figure out how to post the pictures I will.

Would you be doing the work yourself or paying someone to do it for you? Because body work like that doesn't come cheap.

P.S. - I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, just wondering if you thought of all the costs involved with getting this done. That's a lot of welding and paint prep work. I'd check all the costs involved (including the cost of a donor car, unless you have one already) versus just finding a 70-73 body.

Sweet, looks like you should have it all under control. Post pics of the process while you're doing it, it's not something you see done all the time!

I will do that . I'm doing it because in my area people want 2500.00 for a total pile for junk if its 70 to 73 camaro. You can get 74 to 78 that runs and drives for around 1500.00.
