6000K HID Kit in my T/A
6000K HID Kit in my T/A
I just got done installing some HIDs on my T/A and I thought I would share some pics. Some people have posted some pics of 8000K kits(mostly mustangs on other sites) and so far I am very happy with the 6000K. It has a slight blue to it but it is not solid blue like the 8000k. The light output is SO much better than halogen lights and I really noticed things like road signs lighting up better and being able to see the white lines on the road, it is like they "glow" now. It took forever to adjust them and I think I have them pretty close to perfect but I may need a few more small adjustments. I havn't had anybody flash their lights at me yet and I also drove behind a Kansas State Trooper and he didn't seem to mind either. Since these cars use a h4666 sealed beam headlight I had to first convert to a non sealed beam H4 style headlight and then I got the H4 HID kit to go in them. Tell me what you guys think, thanks

Looks really nice man.

Now you just need to get some matching bulbs for those fog lights and clear corners.

Re: 6000K HID Kit in my T/A
Thanks for the compliments guys, and to answer a few questions I got the kit from www.blinglights.com (yea I know, stupid name). You can go to google and type in "hid conversion" and that will bring up a bunch more sites that sell the kits. The kit was nicer than I thought it would be and since HID lights run at less watts you don't need to upgrade the wiring. I did not have to cut any wires to install these, simply plug the ballasts into the factory light harness. I spent more time just finding a spot for the ballasts and mounting them cleanly. I got the H4 conversion here http://store.racinglab.com/redicutsebeh.html
So I guess now I will be doing somthing with the fogs, but as of now I am very happy that I did the conversion and I think it is well worth the money. If you have any more questions or coments feel free to let me know.
Thanks again

Very few people running HID's in LT1 model cars. See sig.
My car looks 100% stock. I have HID's in my headlights and foglights. To do a clean job, all thats needed is some paticents, and some good extensions. I used the same idea as putting a 9006 bulb into a factory housing, and carefully siliconed everything in. The foglights had to be hardwired, but work great. I have yet to have any problems to this day. It looks incredable at twilight with just the foglights on.

You need a ballast per light/housing.
There has been a few try HID with the FF75's I think...can't remember.
I do know they have quite a scattered beam, but still probably do better than the stockers.
If you're really serious Marcin - I'd check these out:

They may fit - and they are a better housing.
