For what it's worth, 2 years ago I had the beginnings of the dash cracking on my 98 TA and bought a vinyl dash cover on eBay. It was black and I had to paint it to match the dark gray. It went very well and I am satisfied with the results.

I recently bought a new dash pad from my hometown dealer where I originally bought my car. Their pricing was surprisingly "decent", but by no means cheap. I'm going to have to remove my factory dash pad in order to clean some stuff out of the defrost vent and I'm just assuming it's going to crack. I wish I had known this was such a big issue before these things got ridiculously expensive. The prices for the LS1 dash pads are even worse.

Bought one for my 97 and you can barly tell its there. Fits right over the broken one. Just epoxy it down using some sand bags for weight. Good as new.
